Choosing a location for your session!! | Cornwall & Ottawa Photographer

One of the most common questions I receive as a photographer from clients is…. “where do we have our session??”

There are MANY options & ideas that are amazing for a session but it really depends on YOUR family!! Here are a few things to consider for your family photo locations:

TYPE OF LANDSCAPE?

Consider what kind of landscape you’re looking for....you could choose something with a chic vibe with city buildings, or light and airy in the woods!  I almost always gravitate to nature…wide open fields, trees & long grasses is always my go to spot!! What matches your family’s vibe?

SPECIAL TO YOUR FAMLIY?

Is there a spot where your family often takes walks? Have you had a special picnic before in a certain location? Think of spots that are special to your family!!

INSPRIATION...

Have you seen any family photos that inspire you already? Let your photographer know! They can help you to figure out how to pull off similar photos that are unique to your family!

Quick tip: Gather inspiration for your family photos with platforms like Pinterest and Instagram...it will help your photographer to see what you’re looking for!

MATCHING WITH YOUR OUTFITS?

If you’re planning to wear something in particular, consider how it would look in different locations...if you want to get formal with your outfits, for example, consider choosing an urban location that matches that vibe!

OPEN SHADE

The number one thing that every location needs to have is open shade…think mature trees, barns, buildings, covered patio, walking trails or even large machinery! Not only does that help to keep everyone from squinting the whole session but provides the most complimentary lighting!!

That is awesome!! Let’s get in touch to secure a date for your session…currently booking for June session dates….get in touch today!!
